Beginners

Our beginners classes are a great place to start if you are new to yoga or perhaps returning to practice after some time. In these classes you will be introduced to fundamental principles that will ensure your yoga is safe, effective and ebjoyable:

  • Correct movement principles to ensure your practice is safe and allows progress
  • Ujjayi breathing - principles and practice
  • Foundation Postures

Our beginners classes allow room for explanation of the various aspects of practice to increase your understanding which in turn leads to a more satisfying experience.

Once you feel confident in the basics, you may like to move in to an open level class, where you will explore the practice on a deeper level and be introduced to a greater variety of postures.

Open

Open level classes are inclusive of all levels of experience including beginners, however If you haven’t practiced yoga before it is recommended that you attend at least 4 beginners classes before joining an open class.

In our open level classes you will explore a greater range of postures and further develop the breath. While slightly more active and challenging than the beginners class, you will be encouraged to work within your own limits and postures will be adapted where necessary to enable your full participation and enjoyment.

Pregnancy

Our pregnancy yoga classes will support you through the many physical and emotional changes you face during pregnancy. You will learn skills that will be beneficial not only throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth, but also in the years of motherhood to come.

Pregnancy classes are not open to casual attendance and must be booked in advance.

General

Suitable only for students who have experience in Svastha Yoga - please speak with Barbara before attending this class.

Morning Wake Up

This is a reasonably active class designed to wake you up for the weekend ahead. Comprising of sun salutations and postures linked in sequences, this class will leave you feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time. Suitable only for students who have experience in Svastha Yoga - please speak with Barbara before attending this class.

Svastha Yoga is located on the first floor of The Kelly Street Studio,
a beautiful historic brick building at 1A Kelly Street, Mt Eden, Auckland.

There is free parking in Kelly Street and the surrounding area, and the studio is close to both rail and bus stations.

There are two bathrooms and a changing room at the studio, for those who come to class straight from other
activities and need to change. We have an EFTPOS facility, however do not accept credit cards.

Class Structure and Costs


Monthly Programs:

Monthly programs are our way of encouraging you to commit to regular classes. Book in to 1, 2 or more classes per week and pay less. Monthy programs can be purchased at the beginning of each calendar month. 

1 class per week - $75.00 per month
2 classes per week - $130.00 per month
3 or more classes per week - $160.00 per month

If for any reason your unable to make your usual class, you are welcome to attend any other class during the month as a makeup class.
Unused classes may not be carried forward to subsequent months and are not refundable.

10 Class Concession Cards

Valid for 3 months - $185.00 (New students - your first card is only $135.00!)
Valid for 6 weeks - $160.00 

**Please note - if your card expires before you have used all classes, you may still use the classes however, you will be charged the difference between the cost of the discounted class and the cost of a casual class.**

Casual Attendance - $20 per class

Class numbers are limited - it is advisable to check if space is available in class if you are attending as a casual student.

Yoga mats are provided at the studio, however please feel free to bring your own if you prefer. We recommend that you do not take a meal 1 1/2 - 2 hours prior to your class.
