Yoga Therapy ~ the adaptation and application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance and increase vitality.
Svastha yoga therapy is different to what you may experience in a 'regular' yoga class. With yoga therapy the focus is on specific practices, postures etc that are specifically tailored to meet your requirements, whether these are at a physical, physiological or mental/emotional level, whereas a regular yoga class includes a wide range of postures and instruction is at a common level ensuring a positive experience for all students.
At Svastha Yoga we provide consultations on a one-to-one basis as well as conduct therapeutic courses for small groups of people (maximum 6) facing similar health challenges.
Some conditions will respond quite readily with symptoms clearing and a normal level of mobility / well-being returning quite quickly, while other more complicated conditions may respond more slowly over a period of time. In all cases, the role of yoga therapy is to provide relief and improve mental/emotional stability, bringing about a greater feeling of well-being.
Yoga therapy is complimentary to any other form of treatment and our therapists are always ready to discuss any concerns about your participation with your healthcare provider.
